This school year, an important focus for Tiger is that of ‘Respect’. Each term we have a different aspect of respect to think about together during ‘Feeling Good’ time.
In Term 1, we explored self-respect.
At the end of the term, we celebrated with a thought-provoking assembly led by our Wellbeing Prefects and a team of Year 6 pupils. The Headteacher’s Award was for Respect.
In Term 2, we focused upon respecting our friends.
During Anti-bullying week, we explored different ways to show kindness to other children. At the end of the week we celebrated Children in Need, and classes buddied up across the school to share kindness together.
We also wore odd socks to school; celebrating our individuality and what makes us unique.
In December, it was the turn of Year 5 to lead an assembly on respecting our friends. We loved hearing Year 5’s messages of friendship and inclusivity, and were so impressed that they learnt the sign language to accompany the song they performed to us.
In Term 5, Year 1 were super brave and confident whilst presenting a Respect assembly to the whole school. They told us all about how to respect our school environment, and even sang a song to help us to remember to 'Reuse, Reduce and Re-cycle'.
Congratulations to all the children who received certificates, celebrating the care they take for the school environment.
